Why Wait 4-8 Weeks In Between Sessions?

Clients always ask me why they have to wait 4-8 weeks before coming back in. The reasoning is because you need time to heal or I'll be creating unnecessary scar tissue and the skin may reject the pigment if the skin isn't healed enough. Our cells turn over in 28-30 days in our 20'-40's. Add a week for every decade beyond 40. Once your cells are turned over your skin is healed ENOUGH to possibly work on again. However some clients must wait longer if they come back and the skin isn't ready. (This is rare.) Microblading causes more scar tissue than machine work due to its dragging nature vs the needle going up and down. Therefore we want to give the skin 2 cycles of healing time before going back in. Because powder brows are done with a machine- unless you are getting microshading done. The hand tool method of creating shading aka powder effect/powder brows. Machine work causes less scar tissue than hand tool work believe it or not therefore we can go back in sooner. 4-6 weeks later vs 8 weeks with microblading or hand tool work. Also if you haven't noticed the color goes away and comes back- it goes through an ashy ghost phase. You don't see the true results until 4-8 weeks after the procedure- so in order for your artist to truly see what alterations need to be made he/she needs to see the final product. Which does not appear until 4-8 weeks after your session. Red/pink, itchy skin is signs of healing skin. Skin needs oxygen to heal. Remember to avoid the sun, picking, or soaking the area until healed! So if you wondered "why do I have to wait so long before coming back and finishing my look." This is why! Hope this helped!
